Nsoh-Bawum Celebrates “Water Is Life”
Official letterhead of the Republic of Cameroon carried an application for a borehole and potable water for the Nsoh-Bawum quarter of the Bafut subdivision in the north-west region. “We are a community greatly deprived … the streams do not meet health standards for a fast-growing population like ours and are instead a source of water-borne diseases.”
The letter strongly appealed to Fahmiyanwi to come to their aid and “give our community life.” It’s an easy appeal to answer when one project can alleviate a water crisis suffered for over 30 years! We had a geophysical survey conducted and found that hydrogeological zones had good aquifiers capable of supplying operating water tables.
Until this clean drinking water, the nearest (and only) place to access water was a stream located about a third of a mile away. Today they celebrate life as the African saying goes, “Water is life!”
Nsoh Project Cost: $37,500; Project Impact: Population 8600 and 1944 households. Lives changed for a little more than $4 per person!

for the time He has given you is not without purpose.”
